2007-2008 Seminar Series |
|||
An
integral part of the
graduate
program in Cellular and Molecular Physiology is the exposure of our
students
to physiologists from all over the world. The program sponsors a
seminar
series which brings approximately 30 scientists a year to the
University
of Chicago campus to discuss their latest research. We have introduced
a program to enhance the value of this seminar series to our newer
students.
A faculty member who sponsors the speaker passes out several of the
speaker's
recent publications to students and leads a discussion of the speaker's
work prior to the weekly seminar. This aids our students in
understanding
the diverse range of topics in the seminar series. We arrange a weekly
lunch for the students to discuss scientific topics with these eminent
scientists.
