2007-2008 Seminar Series

An integral part of the graduate program in Cellular and Molecular Physiology is the exposure of our students to physiologists from all over the world. The program sponsors a seminar series which brings approximately 30 scientists a year to the University of Chicago campus to discuss their latest research. We have introduced a program to enhance the value of this seminar series to our newer students. A faculty member who sponsors the speaker passes out several of the speaker's recent publications to students and leads a discussion of the speaker's work prior to the weekly seminar. This aids our students in understanding the diverse range of topics in the seminar series. We arrange a weekly lunch for the students to discuss scientific topics with these eminent scientists.
